Comment added September 1, 2024 7:27pmCandidates should be required to be current on their taxes to receive matching funds. We can’t let city council candidates like Darlene Mealy both skip out on their taxes AND use tax payer money to fund their campaigns. Mealy hasn’t paid taxes since 2022 but then went double dipping using our tax money to support her campaign. No Bueno!

Comment added October 21, 2024 10:50amI strongly support these changes – no campaign should receive matching funds from my taxes until they’ve submitted all the correct documentation and completed any necessary audits.

Comment added October 22, 2024 4:10pmI fully support adoption of the proposed amendments. As an NYC taxpayer, it is extremely important to me that campaigns are transparent in their filings and are held accountable for when they are in violation of the CFB’s rules.
