The passenger pays just one way toll going to Staaten Island but driver needs to pay return toll from his/her own pocket which is not justified.
The driver is penalized twice.
I. The driver returns without a passenger wasting his time and gasoline earning no money.
2. The driver pays Verezano bridge toll from his own pocket which is not fair at all.
In fact, the passenger should pay round trip toll and not one way toll. That will be fair and driver will not be penalized by paying one way toll while coming back from Staaten Island wasting his/her gasoline and time.
This rule should be changed by passenger paying round trip toll as practiced in the past.
Thank you so much for your understanding.

The passenger pays a one way toll to Staten Island, leaving the driver stranded there. There is no way off the island without paying a toll out of our pockets. There is not enough clientele in Staten Island and drivers are forced to come back empty and pay their own way back.
Passengers should have to pay a two way toll when traveling to and from the island.Thank you,

Do taxi drivers usually return without a passenger? If the first passenger pays round trip, and the driver picks up a passenger on the way back and the second passenger also has to pay the toll, the driver is being paid twice. is there some way GPS or E-Z Pass could be made to know a return trip?
