YES! young people need and will benefit from FREE access to recreation centers.
Community residents are frequently requesting access and programming for youth in the Pelham Fritz Recreation center.

Young people need outlets to keep them busy and viable alternates to gangs. BUT, maybe a SMALL fee would be more appropriate so they can appreciate having this service. It would not prohibit them from joining…give them an incentive to be productive by offering a community service work program that rewards youth with this recreational pass for those who really cannot afford any payment?
It is also worth mentioning that seniors should be included with this decision…they now pay a reduced fee let’s not lose this or lose sight of the need to provide for those who have lived and worked in our city and now remain here in retirement.
