The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (“DCWP” or “Department”) is proposing to amend rules related to the Earned Safe and Sick Time Act ("ESSTA"). Local Law 97 of 2020 amended ESSTA by increasing the amount of paid sick leave available for some employees, eliminating the 120-day waiting period to use sick leave, and adding or clarifying various enforcement provisions.
