The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection is proposing to add rules to prohibit certain deceptive or unconscionable trade practices prevalent in the provision of customer service due to the increasing use of automated customer service systems. The Department is also clarifying that no person can avoid liability for failing to comply with local laws and rules by claiming a particular technology caused or assisted in violative acts or omissions.
