This is a fantastic idea. The illegal parking issue in this area is so much more “high-stakes” than other parts of the city due to the hospital traffic. There should absolutely be consequences for blocking an ambulance and delaying someone’s lifesaving care, and we can’t expect the NYPD to be there 24/7 to monitor this area. This is an excellent solution to a very dangerous problem.

As a physician as SUNY Downstate and Kings County for years, this is much needed! Please allow this amendment so we can free up the streets for emergency vehicles and allow us to do our jobs.

SUNY DOWNSTATE HEALTH SCIENCE UNIVERSITY HAS BEEN A PLACE OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST THE VULNERABLE BY INDIVIDUALS WHO ABUSE THEIR POSITION OF AUTHORITY.

OFFICERS SHOULD FOCUS ON ALL ISSUES.

There is enough corruption going on within the CITY OF NEW YORK, we do not need to put more money into these politician’s pockets. Years ago I investigated the traffic department and found over ten thousand bogus parking summons. Many people just paid to get out of losing time from work and money to feed their families. AND WHAT WAS DONE ABOUT THAT? HOW MANY AGENTS WERE ARRESTED? ZERO WERE ARRESTED. I MYSELF WAS ISSUED SUCH BOGUS SUMMONS IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. THAT WAS RECORDED BY MY VIDEO CAMERAS. WHEN I WENT TO THE TRAFFIC COURT THE LOUSY ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGE REFUSED TO LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE.
Issuing more people authority to issue tickets to registered vehicles will not solve the parking issues. Assign current traffic agents a sector within the area with illegally parked cars, that will solve this problem. Once you start giving agencies power to enforce certain rules / laws, it will be like a cancer that spreads to other areas. This idea of authorizing more enforcement personnel is just a money / tax grab by this socialist know nothing mayor. People that voted for him are currently angry at what they did but now see the errors of their ways. Wages are NOT going up to keep with rising prices for food and shelter. Look at all the money that was spent and continues to be thrown at the illegals allowed into this country. We pay enough taxes and they benefit from our money in too many ways. They get all the benefits that current tax payers are put through hoops to get for actual needs. Social security, cash cards, hotel rooms, food, medical attention, medications, surgeries, airfares to enter this country.
ALL FROM OUR TAX MONIES, NOT ONE CORRUPT POLITICIAN STEPPED UP TO CALL THIS BULLSHIT AND PUT A STOP TO IT. THEY ALL BLAME PRIOR ADMINISTRATIONS, POINTING FINGERS IN EVERY DIRECTION.
IT IS TIME TO DO THE WORK THESE POLITICIANS WERE PUT IN OFFICE TO DO. DO IT WITH THE MONEY YOU HAVE ALREADY COLLECTED.
WHERE ARE THE CHECKS PROMISED FOR BUYING TRASH CANS?
HOW MANY HOME OWNERS WERE REIMBURSED FOR SUMMONS ISSUED BECAUSE THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH TRASH CANS AT HOME DEPOT OR FROM THAT COMPANY DOWN SOUTH? THEIR WEB PAGE STATED THAT IF THE TRASH CANS WERE BROKEN OR RECEIVED DAMAGED, TO BRING THEM INTO THEIR STOREFRONT OFFICE. BUT GUESS WHAT THEY HAD NO SUCH PLACE IN NEW YORK CITY AND AS OF TODAY IT MAY BE THE SAME.
PROMISES TO SOLVE ALL OUR PROBLEMS WITH FREE BUS TRIPS, TOO MANY IDIOTS VOTED FOR THIS CRACK POT AND NOW HIS HANDS ARE REACHING ONTO OUR POCKETS.
GET REAL AND GET OUT OF OUR POCKETS.

I’m an employee at kings county, this needs to happen asap. I’ve seen firsthand the blockade of buses, access a ride vehicles, and even ambulances due to the marking enforcement. As downstate is across the street from Kings this directly impacts the entire hospital campus on both sides of clarkson, please allow for more ticketing and removal of illegally parked vehicles.

The city should provide more parking for the workers and the Patents. They have 4 alternatives sides. Why not make just 2. Not everyone can afford parking for 200 a month. We come to work to save lives. I come to work at 6am just to be on time for work at 8pm. All because of no parking .

We need more parking for the employees at Downstate. It isn’t fair that we have 4 alternatives side. So we all have to double park n that why it cause congestion. The parking they provide is 20n more for a month. Not all of us has that kind of money. Our.fellow sister Stonybrook gives free parking to there employees. We come to save lives everyday. I start looking for parking from 6am only to be at work for 8am. Its a hassle. For everything.

I strongly believe that they should be authorized to issue summonses for parking infractions. NYC DOT should be the next agency to bring back issuing parking tickets.(Not a takeover of NYPD Traffic) but supplement them as does DSNY. They do it for street cleaning, NYC DOT has tons of inspectors and they can simply carry summonses on them and issue in their travels (To TRUCKS BLOCKING BIKE LANES!, which is a major issue all over and generate revenue the city needs) So NYC DOT if your reading consider giving Inspectors tickets and see what happens. Just as this hospital did and i promise it will lead to safer more organized streets
