The Department of Buildings is proposing to amend section 101-03 of subchapter A of chapter 100 of Title 1 of the Rules of the City of New York to amend fees regarding electrical permits and licensing. The electrical permit fees are being amended to reflect changes made by Local Law 128 of 2024.

To cover the cost of additional staff to improve service levels for license background investigations, fees are being increased from $500 to $550 for class 1 backgrounds and from $330 to $430 for class 2s. A renewal background fee of $130 is also being added.

The Department is also proposing to amend section 102-02 of subchapter B of chapter 100 of Title 1 of the Rules of the City of New York to increase the compensation paid to registered design professionals who perform surveys in accordance with the requirements of section 28-216.6 from $100 to $150.
