I’ve been driving a NYC yellow taxi for years. I’m glad the TLC is pushing for this rule. Requiring insurance from state admitted carriers means we’re protected from shady practices and unexpected surprises. For drivers like me who rely on insurance to keep working this rule is a win for fairness and accountability.

As a TLC driver for 30+ years in New York City, i strongly support the rule to require insurance from new york admitted carriers. Driving in this city is tough enough and we need to know our insurance will actually protect us if something goes wrong. we need the backing of new york state guaranty fund if insurer cant pay out claims. this rule will give me peace of mind that coverage is secure.
