I was born in Brooklyn in 1946 and transitioned from male to female in the mid 1980s, with reassignment surgery in 1987. Since then I have tried repeatedly to have my birth certificate corrected only to have my application rejected. Every one of my identity documents has been changed long ago. It would be impossible to get some of the documents demanded such as pre and post operative psychological evaluation (my therapist died decades ago), pre and post op physical exam (hard to get a pre surgery form when my reassignment surgery was in 1987, don't you think) All I am asking of the city of NY is that the health department not throw unnecessary obstacles in the way. Please make it simpler for people like me to have a certificate correction
